I am relearning to knit and I wanted to learn the continental method. A few years ago, I took some knitting classes and the person leading the group was European and I never saw someone knit so fast and with such efficiency. I’m sorry to say I didn’t stick with it and did some knitting since but reverted back to my self-taught method. This time I’m going to relearn knitting continental style. I researched what resources were available in book form. To the author’s point, there isn’t much. To respond to the other reviewer Denise is correct, you must learn to crochet first, which I am now doing before you can succeed knitting continental style. This just makes sense to me. Thank you, Denise.

I’ve crocheted for 45 years and always wanted to learn how to knit continental style. I took classes, read books, watched countless YouTube videos, it never clicked.
This book is awesome. The author spends a good amount of time teaching you how to crochet first – if you’re already a crocheter, there’s good info but it’s more of a refresher. Using the muscle memory you get from crocheting, you don’t have to re-learn anything, you just use those skills to knit. After reading this woman’s book, I was able to easily follow a beginner pattern and create a lovely shawl!
Best book purchase I’ve made in a while. Well worth your money and time!
